The website of the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office of the Mainland showed that Huawei has applied for registration of the "Huawei Hongmeng" trademark on August 24, 2018, the registration announcement date is May 14, 2019, and the exclusive rights period is May 14, 2019 to May 13, 2029.

Huawei Hongmeng's commodity and service field display is used for graphics accelerator, file management computer program, operating system program, computer operating program, computer operating software, central processing unit, compiler software, etc. It is possible for Huawei to develop its own OS operating system.

Previously, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, revealed that Huawei's self-developed OS operating system came out as soon as this autumn and at the latest in spring next year. The system has access to mobile phones, computers, tablets, automobiles, televisions and wearing devices, and is compatible with all Android applications and all Web applications. If Android applications are recompiled on Huawei's operating system, the performance can be improved by more than 60%.

Hongmeng system is based on Linux, the first financial quotation experts said, because Huawei in the past has developed its own EROFS open source file system for the development of Ark compiler. Therefore, the "Hongmeng" system, which integrates EROFS and Ark Compiler, still has some strength.

However, many foreign media analysis shows that ecosystems and developers are also critical to the operating system. Without the help of Google's mobile service App, many third-party Apps may be difficult to run on Huawei's new system, which will affect the willingness of developers and the number of users.
